Using PaperAlly on your own work
PaperAlly is a licensed product. Anyone may try it, and a trial gives you a whole result rather than a taste of one. A licence is what you take out when you want to use it on the work you are actually going to submit.
Nothing here is a detector, and a licence does not add one. The artefact is the delegation record: what you handed to a model, what you checked, and who stands behind it.

Audits, as many as you need
Check a draft at every stage, on every paper, rather than twice. The audit is the same one the trial runs: it reads your text on our own server, makes no model call, and the same document always produces the same report.

The record is the artefact this whole product exists to produce, and a licence is what lets you export it and attach it at submission.

Send a record to a supervisor, a co-author or an editor with a link you can withdraw again later.
For an institution
The organisation, cohort and supervision surfaces: your own AI rules stated where people are actually working, membership and cohorts, supervision, and assurance figures that count rows and can never return one named person. Those come with an institution licence.

2 complete audits
Complete means complete. A trial audit gives you the whole report, the same one a licence holder gets, on your own document. We limit how many you can run and never how good they are.
A tool whose entire claim is that its record can be trusted cannot go around handing strangers a weakened answer to make a licence look better. So the trial shows you exactly what you would be buying, and then it stops.
Counted per network connection
The count follows the connection you are on rather than the browser you are using, so a new window, a different browser or clearing your cookies will not add more. We would rather say that here than let you find it out.
The reason is not mysterious: this is a paid product, and a trial that resets whenever somebody asks it to is not a trial.
What we store to do it
Not your address. We keep a salted hash of it, which is useless to anybody who takes the table and cannot be linked to anything else, and we delete it after 30 days. The privacy notice says so in those words.
One real consequence of counting this way: two people behind the same university connection share an allowance. If that has happened to you, say so in the form below and we will sort it out. Nobody is being accused of anything.
